Save the LOUISVILLE BOAT CLUB

Home Page

The Louisville Boat Club is one of the finest private clubs in America!

We are about to celebrate its 130th year.

Our new manager, Terry Basher, is a former employee
of Club Corp. the premier club management group in the
U.S.  She has 20+ years experience in managing and consulting with private clubs.

Terry has been with LBC for a little over 6 months.  In that short time she has
made a tremendous and positive improvement to the club.  The food is the
best it has ever been; the staff has become more professional, They dress
better, and provide a quality of service, second to none!

Terry has saved the club over
$107,000 over last year in reduced waste, duplications, shrinkage and more.

There is a small group of vigilantes who are trying to destroy the club for their personal gain.  These persons have caused the club to incur undue expenses and gone around the Manager and President and spent un-authorized monies for unnecessary or excessively expensive items that they wanted.

Expenses must be kept within the budget like any business.  These persons have willfully exceeded the budget after repeatedly been asked not to do so.

It is believed, that certain persons who have rental commercial real estate interest, may have plans to bankrupt the club so they can buy the building at pennies on the dollar and convert it to an assisted living facility.  This is NOT acceptable!  We must all pitch in and stop them.

The first thing we must do is return the club to it's by laws and let our very qualified manager run it as it should be run.  She has our BEST interests at heart.  No hidden agendas!

The group of vigilantes has even started talks about impeaching the club President, Mr. Roy Mattingly.  He has made efforts to enforce the by laws and the club constitution as they were intended to be by the founders.  These efforts have made the offenders unhappy because they cannot get away with their personal agendas and violate the rules as they have so flagrantly in the past.

There was a board meeting (Mr. Mattingly was out of town) when 17 bottles of wine were ordered by the directors and either consumed or taken home.  They were paid for by you and me, and without our consent.  I also do not want people making decisions about the operation of our club while drunk!

This too must stop!
